You already know that the PRESENT tense of the verb is used to talk about

• the immediate future
• future date that is made clear through adverbs:

                                     Wenn ich 18 Jahre alt bin, gehe ich auf die Uni.

                                     Morgen kaufen wir in der Stadt ein.
 
 

When the context of when is not made clear in the sentence or text,
Germans use a FUTURE construction of the verb to indicate it is not in the present.

                                  Silvia wird (wohl) nach Amerika fahren.

                                  Wir werden (wohl) mit unsrer Diplomarbeit anfangen.
 

Note that the infinitive "werden" comes at the END of the independent clause.

The adverb wohl expresses probability.
